The OMM Centre, based at the 315 Health Club in Lancaster, combines a specialist OMM retail experience with remote customer support, providing expert advice and aftersales service to customers across the UK and beyond.

The RoleWe are looking for a keen runner and outdoor enthusiast to join our team as an OMM Centre Retail & Aftersales Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to someone who genuinely loves being outdoors and enjoys helping others get more from their time outside.

Reporting to the OMM Centre Manager, you will support customers both in person and remotely, working across retail sales, aftersales support, and general office functions. While the role focuses primarily on OMM, you will also support customers of our wider brand portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, knowledgeable team where your contribution matters, with scope to grow as the business continues to develop

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Represent and embody the values, ethos, and spirit of the OMM and Ark brands
  • Provide knowledgeable, friendly advice to customers in person, by phone, email, and web chat
  • Handle B2C and B2B aftersales enquiries, including returns and warranty claims
  • Assist customers with purchase decisions and process in-store sales
  • Maintain high standards of shop presentation and monitor stock levels
  • Support and attend OMM event weekends (currently up to two per year)
  • Provide additional support to the internal sales desk and wider office functions as required
  • Support and attend weekly OMM run club

What We’re Looking ForEssential
  • A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Good knowledge and understanding of technical outdoor and running equipment
  • Confident computer skills (Outlook, Excel, and web-based tools)
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
  • A proactive, enthusiastic approach with strong problem-solving skills
Desirable
  • Off-road runner and/or active outdoor enthusiast
  • Experience in mountain marathons, running, camping, or general outdoor activities
  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or the wider outdoor industry

Training, Development & ProgressionFull product and systems training will be provided, with ongoing support from the wider Ark team. As the business grows, there will be opportunities to develop into senior aftersales, sales support, or brand-focused roles.

The Role
Working closely with the Marketing Manager and wider team, you’ll help deliver campaigns and content that inspire outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. From creating social media posts to supporting events, you’ll be hands-on across a variety of projects — no two days will be the same.
 
What You’ll Do
  • Support the planning, delivery and execution of marketing campaigns across digital, social and retail channels
  • Create, schedule and optimise engaging content for our social media, website and email newsletters
  • Manage and update websites and e-commerce platforms using CMS tools
  • Coordinate with influencers, ambassadors, athletes and media partners
  • Provide support at events, product photoshoots and brand activations
  • Monitor performance analytics and audience insights to inform continuous improvement
  • Be a proactive team player, ready to pitch in with creative ideas and energy
  • Attend and support the delivery of Ark events, including The OMM and Lake District Running Festival.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a marketing role, ideally within consumer brands, sports, or outdoor sectors
  • Hands-on experience using:
    • Web CMS for content and product publishing
    • Social media tools — including Meta Business Suite
    • Email marketing platforms
    • Google Analytics (or GA4) and other digital measurement tools
  • An understanding of PPC and paid social campaigns
  • Strong copywriting skills and creative flair for visual storytelling
  • A thirst for knowledge – a proactive approach to learning about the latest marketing trends and opportunities and sharing with the wider team
  • Adaptability: thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the challenge of working within multiple projects
  • A marketing qualification or experience is great — but enthusiasm, a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn matter most
 
What you’ll bring
  • A love of the outdoors – be it off road running, climbing, camping or all. 
  • Creativity - ability to spot and develop opportunities and ideas for content, campaigns, and brand activation
  • Experience with appropriate digital marketing tools - Google Analytics, Meta Ads, email platforms etc.
  • Organisation, creativity and confidence; ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently

Ark Consultants UK Ltd acquires Troll Brand and distributions

We are pleased to announce the purchase of Troll and its distribution relationships from Troll Outdoors Limited.  This increases Ark’s distribution portfolio of brands: OMM, Nordisk, Adventure Nutrition, Troll, Boot Bananas, CT Climbing Technology, Dexshell, Kletter Retter and 8B Plus.

The expansion is an exciting time for Ark with the focus now expanding to Outdoor, Run and Climbing.
Charlotte Dover is promoted to Commercial Director and we welcome Russ Gill into the field sales team alongside Nick Hurt.  

Tom Williams, Ark Group Director says, “I am delighted by these developments which take Ark beyond being the sales team for OMM and Nordisk.  The new Brands and structure will give us a better focus to meet growing consumer and retailer needs in the UK and clean delineation as we continue to expand OMM across Europe.”

General Description
The OMM Centre, located at 315 Health Club in Lancaster, combines a retail experience for visitors together with remote customer service.  Although the role focuses primarily on OMM Ltd, support is also provided for UK customers of our partner brand, Nordisk. The successful candidate will have retail experience and a passion for the outdoors. This is an opportunity to join a friendly and dynamic team, with potential for progression within a growing business.

Reporting to the OMM Centre Director, the role will include, but not be exclusively limited to: –

  • Answering queries and providing advice to consumers in person, as well as by phone, email and web chat
  • Problem solving consumer returns queries and warranty claims
  • Assisting with customer purchase decisions, and processing in-store sales

We are delighted to welcome Adventure Nutrition as a new Event Partner of the Montane Dragon’s Back Race® for its next three editions. 

This exciting news comes as the organisers prepare for the 2021 edition of the event starting on Monday 6th September. This will be the sixth edition of the Montane Dragon’s Back Race®, but the first with the new and extended 380km route completing the full journey from Conwy castle on the north coast of Wales, to Cardiff castle in South Wales. 

The new finish at Cardiff castle will be a fitting finale for such a monumental race and the event’s final overnight camp will be hosted inside the castle walls. It will also provide an incredible venue for spectators to watch the runners finishing the race and being awarded their coveted dragon trophies.

Adventure Nutrition will be providing a stock of dehydrated meals for the event to cover various contingencies and to feed the advanced teams working ahead of the main event. 

The Montane Dragon’s Back Race® is organised by Ourea Events and Race Director Shane Ohly comments: 
“The event has complex logistics, which require a small team of personnel to work one day ahead of the main team, helping to establish our next overnight camp. We wanted to ensure that this crew was well feed and the range of dehydrated meals provided by Adventure Nutrition was a natural choice.”

He continued, “Additionally, we work through many contingencies when we plan this event and one challenge we want to be able to manage is the loss or delay of our catering vans transporting food and/or equipment. Consider the impacts of a breakdown, road closure or road traffic accident. In such a circumstance we wanted the contingency capability to feed participant and crew, and the simplicity of the dehydrated meals from Adventure Nutrition gives us the option”.

The Montane Dragon’s Back Race® is widely acknowledge as one of, if not the, hardest mountain running race in the world. The event features six back-to-back days running the length of Wales, with various mountain summits defining the route that the runners must complete. The ground is notoriously rough and tough and attrition rate on the runners high. Only the most well prepared are likely to make it to the finish at Cardiff Castle.

We are looking to fill a part-time Sales Administrator role.  The desired applicant will be someone comfortable interacting with the sales team, as well as being happy building relationships with our trade customers. Training will be provided but the ability to learn cloud based software & processes is important. Additionally, an interest in our product groups is beneficial.
 
Salary band £18,000 to £22,000 pro-rata
